Pharmaceutical Quality Lump Breakers
The CC-310 and CCD-450 models represent two high quality, compact lump breakers in mono or twin roller versions, respectively, for the pharmaceutical, food, and fine chemical industries. All parts in contact with the product are made of stainless steel, complying with GMP and FDA guidelines. The output spectrum of the Frewitt lump breakers covers a flow rate ranging from a 100 kg/h minimum to a 4 t/h maximum. Lumps or blocks up to 30 cm in size are processed in the breaking chamber. By adapting the tools to specific products, both models have a wide spectrum of applications. In the processing stage, the product is broken down by one or two rollers. Depending on the required particle size, the breakers can be used either as stand-alone machines or as pre-sizers in conjunction with other mill types whether it would be a conical or oscillating sieve mill or finally, a hammer mill.

Construction
The simple construction of the lump breaker ensures easy operation, cleaning and quick efficient maintenance.
- The front door with the roller on the CC-310 is detachable via four
ring bolts.
- In the CCD-450, the breaking rollers are detachable from above,
i.e., the outlet funnel is removed in order to have access to
the rollers.
Process
Process
In this process, lumps of product are broken on the stator comb by the rotor pins.
When crushinging hard, highly resistant materials, the system automatically switches in reverse upon reaching maximum torque. This loosens the product, and after approximately 3 to 4 reverse rotations of the rotor the lump breaker can grind the loosened product more easily. This loosening process is fully automatic, thereby preventing an overload of the drive motor. These sizing systems are ideal for the coarse sizing of hard products such as plates, slugs, and lumps.
